Today’s cartoon took three quarters of the front page of the October 1, 1979 edition of the Daily Times. I was commissioned by the Daily Times management to do the cartoon to commemorate the handover from the military to the civilians that very day.
A PROPHETIC MESSAGE TO PRESIDENT SHAGARI
In the third quarter of 1983, I became so upset with the lawlessness of the Shehu Shagari administration, especially with the Gestapo style of Sunday Adsewusi – then Inspector General of Police. The article you find in today’s post is the first of a two-part warning message to the administration. I almost fled the country after the publications.
